Manna Experiences Winter

Where winter becomes emotion

There are places where the cold season is not just a time of year, but an atmosphere to be experienced with all the senses. Here, when the air gets crisper and the days get shorter, a different way of experiencing time is born: slower, more intense, more authentic. It is the perfect time to be inspired, discover new passions and bring home memories that smell of mountains, traditions and precious moments to share.

Alpine Skiing

For alpine skiing enthusiasts, Manna Resort offers the Cermis ski area (Cavalese) just 15 minutes away. It is also located half an hour from the Dolomiti Superski area, which connects over 1,000 kilometers of ski slopes. You can access it from Obereggen or Pampeago.

Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

For cross-country skiers, the area around the Manna Resort is interesting, with the Lavazè and Oclini Passes, locations also chosen for their training by the Norwegian and Italian national Nordic ski teams.

Christmas markets

Under the Christmas season, it is possible to visit the traditional Christmas markets in the area, from those in Bolzano, Bressanone, and Vipiteno, to the one in Trento; from the one in Merano to the one at Lake Carezza.

Winery Tastings

For lovers of fine wine, the Manna Resort offers tastings at the Franz Hass winery connected to our facility. A visit to Franz Hass introduces the long history and values of the winery, highlights the constant dialogue between art and wine, offers the opportunity to visit the premises where the products are created and, of course, taste them. Visits with tasting are made by reservation.
During the harvest period, no visits to the winery are conducted for safety reasons.

Water Mirrors

Manna Resort is also synonymous with lake tourism, from Lake Caldaro to Lake Carezza. The stunning Lake Kaltern is the warmest bathing lake in the Alps: an irresistible attraction for many vacationers that turns into a pleasant ice skating rink in winter. Lake Carezza, known to residents as Rainbow Lake, on the other hand, is a small mountain lake in the Ega Valley, famous for its crystal-clear waters that have earned it a UNESCO World Heritage nomination. In winter here you can find local artisans’ markets on the picturesque shores of the lake.

Traditional Törggelen

From October through November, dive into the tradition of Törggelen. Enjoy dumplings, pickled meats, sausages with sauerkraut, apple strudel and roasted chestnuts, accompanied by “Siaßen Wein” and our new wine. Discover one of our land’s most cherished traditions, a journey into the heart of South Tyrol.

City

Manna Resort is a half-hour drive from the capital cities of Bolzano and Trento, which are rich in art and history. Among the cities of Trentino, Bolzano is most famous for its magical Christmas markets, but also for its very high quality of life. Embraced by the Dolomites, Bolzano is “opulent, modern, but its beauty is Gothic,” as Guido Piovene wrote in his Viaggio in Italia. Trento, on the other hand, is a city that amazes and captivates. A treasure chest of many masterpieces of art and history, it is a spectacle to enjoy its architectural and natural beauty. Its history is intense, characterized by encounters and clashes: in fact, for centuries Trento was autonomous, then Hapsburg and finally Italian.

Egna

The municipality of Egna is the main town in the Bassa Atesina region. It is located about 25 km south of Bolzano. Due to its geographical location, as early as the Middle Ages, Egna became an important trade center connecting north and south, thus gaining significant cultural and economic importance. Even today various Venetian-style architectural monuments remind us of the influence of the Mediterranean style. The municipality is included in the list of the “Most Beautiful Villages in Italy” with the definition “The ancient arcades of the Market Town”.
